About The Event
This September, in celebration of Recovery Month, the Umbrella Society and New Roads Recovery are uniting to bring a dynamic and meaningful event focused on the power of recovery. Recovery Day Victoria 2024 will take place on Saturday, September 21st, at Central Park in Victoria, BC, marking the return of recovery celebrations to the province’s capital for the first time since 2018.
RDV’24 is a free, family-friendly, and inclusive event designed to offer a welcoming, substance-free environment where individuals, families, friends, and communities affected by substance use disorders and addiction can come together. This event will honor those who have achieved recovery, extend hope to those currently on their journey, and recognize the resilience and strength that recovery requires.
The day will feature a wide array of activities designed to engage and inspire all attendees. Enjoy live music and comedy performances on the main stage, savor offerings from food trucks, explore a diverse marketplace of vendors, and connect with valuable resources in the substance use and recovery services area. The event will also include a 4-on-4 street hockey tournament, a “Family Fun Zone” with an inflatable park, and a kids and family stage featuring special entertainers, crafting stations, face painting, and more.
This event is more than just a celebration—it’s the start of a new annual tradition, a powerful demonstration that recovery is possible for everyone, and a reminder that there is a fulfilling life beyond addiction.
